CRYSTAL MOSELLE, Director
Crystal Moselle is an acclaimed American filmmaker celebrated for her character-driven storytelling. Her debut feature, The Wolfpack, won the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance in 2015, following six brothers raised in isolation who find escape through cinema.
She went on to collaborate with female skateboarders in her feature Skate Kitchen (2018) and the HBO series Betty (2019–2021), both earning Gotham Award nominations. Recently, Moselle’s work includes SOPHIA, a feature on the social humanoid robot Sophia, and her latest film, The Black Sea, which premiered at SXSW and will be distributed by Metrograph Pictures this fall.
DERRICK B. HARDEN, Director
Derrick Harden, a Brooklyn artist is making waves in both film and music. His debut feature, THE BLACK SEA —which he directed and stars in—will be released by Metrograph Pictures this year, showcasing his storytelling on screen.
Known for his songs like Do Yourself a Favor, which topped college radio charts, Derrick blends his gritty, Brooklyn-inspired narratives across mediums. He’s also co-developing a TV project with director Crystal Moselle and writing a film inspired by his 90s Brooklyn upbringing.
